Arthur Wilde told deputies he was driving Rose Ann Gray to a home at 7464 NE 199th St. Road just after midnight. When he got to the home, Gray got out of the truck and started to remove a Coleman cooler with 18 cans of Busch beer inside, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Wilde said he protested and the woman grabbed a large flashlight and struck him on the head. The woman then took the cooler into the home, according to reports.
Wilde returned to his home and called authorities, who noted a large bump on his head.
A deputy went to Gray’s home and spotted the cooler on the porch. It was empty. Gray said the cooler fell out of Wilde’s truck as he drove off. She also said he hit his head when he fell out of the truck and landed on the flashlight, reports state.
Gray was arrested and, on the way to jail, she repeatedly threatened Wilde, according to reports. She said she would hire a 70-year-old to beat up the man and insisted the threats be included in the report.
Gray was booked into the Marion County Jail on one count each of aggravated battery on a person over 65, burglary of a conveyance and petit theft. She remained in the jail on Monday afternoon in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
