An East Naples man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he stabbed a man after he walked his girlfriend home.
Jonathan Winsey, 24, of the 8600 block of Barot Drive, was arrested by Collier County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Early Tuesday, Winsey had been drinking and arguing with his girlfriend, according to an arrest report. She and a female friend left the home to get away from Winsey, reports said. They met up with the friend’s boyfriend, who agreed to walk the two females home because they were afraid of Winsey.
When they arrived to Winsey’s apartment and were walking up the stairs, they noticed Winsey between the second and third floor with a kitchen knife, reports said. Winsey lunged at the friend’s boyfriend, swinging the knife in his face.
The two men struggled, with the victim attempting to get the knife away from Winsey. During the struggle Winsey stabbed the victim at least twice in the left side, reports said.
Another man in the area broke up the fight, separating Winsey and the victim. Deputies arrived just before 5 a.m. and arrested Winsey.
