A Lehigh Acres Middle School teacher was arrested Thursday on charges of selling and possessing cocaine.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Carl Richardson, who reportedly teaches math at the school, sold $200 worth of crack cocaine to an informant during undercover operations near Richardson’s North Fort Myers apartment on April 22 and May 10.

Richardson didn’t come to the door of his Fort Myers apartment Friday.

But our camera caught someone peeking out from behind the bedroom blinds.

Detectives say Richardson sold undercover clients crack cocaine on three separate occasions.

According to the arrest report, the undercover informants met Richardson at a Fort Myers apartment complex and allegedly made those drug transactions through a chain-linked fence.

Parents at the middle school where Richardson has been a math teacher since 2009 say they are outraged over the allegations.

“It’s not cool at all because we teach our kids and the teachers do too…don’t go around drugs, don’t do drugs,” said parent Crystal Rutherford.

Other angry parents shared their feelings on the NBC2 Facebook page.

One mom wrote, “That’s my daughter’s teacher. He better not be there when January 4th when she gets back to school.”

Richardson’s future as a teacher remains unclear. The school district declined comment on the case until after the holidays.

Richardson is charged with two felony counts of selling cocaine and one count of drug possession.

He was arrested on Thursday, booked into the Lee County Jail and then released on bond.

  1. I guess his math skills came in handy? Perhaps he made word problems out of his drug deals and made his students solve them.

P.S. I love your blog categories…disturbing but true.
