Disney worker watched child porn at work while writing sermon May 16, 2013

A custodial manager at Disney’s Port Orleans resort is accused of watching child porn at work while writing an Easter sermon for a Sanford church where he is the pastor.

Cedric Eugene Cuthbert, 49, pastor of the Historic St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Sanford, worked for Disney for more than 7 years before his arrest. He has since been fired.

An employee-relations manager at Disney was alerted last month when Cuthbert tried to access several blocked websites from his work computer, the manager told Orange County deputies.

Disney’s monitoring system takes screen shots of employee computers every three seconds and recorded Cuthbert writing an Easter Sunday church sermon on John chapter 13 verses 1-35 and Psalm 148 while loading pornographic YouTube videos involving teenage girls.

That portion of the book of John tells the story of Jesus’ prediction of Judas’ betrayal and Psalm 148 tells all people to praise the Lord above all else.

Cuthbert faces charges of possession of material including sexual conduct by a child and soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services or devices.

According to his arrest affidavit, Cuthbert worked an overnight shift at the Disney resort from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

He logged in with his employee credentials during a time when no other employees would have been at work, deputies said.

After watching one video, Cuthbert sent a message to the person who posted the video to YouTube that said, “You are so cute!… Keep making vids! Send me a private vid longer, I am a big fan of yours!”

When he got another video he said, “NICE FIND! THANKS for Sharing!!!”

Cuthbert is being held in the Orange County Jail without bail.

On Wednesday, May 8, 2013, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Computer Crimes detectives arrested 41-year-old James “Shannon” Arnett, DOB 04/24/1972, 8810 Pine Tree Drive, Lakeland, charging him with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography.  Arnett was booked into the Polk County Jail at 10:00 p.m., held on no bond until first appearance on Thursday, May 9 at 12:30 p.m.

On May 7, 2013, a Lake Gibson High School student turned a thumb drive in to a PCSO School Resource deputy, telling the deputy he had found a thumb drive in the school’s courtyard and that it had “inappropriate” photos on it.  The student told the deputy that he had a 12-year-old sister, and after looking at some of the pictures on the thumb drive he was “pissed.”

Coincidentally, Arnett had previously told the School Resource deputy that he had lost a thumb drive.  He told the deputy he was worried because the device contained defensive football plays.  He had said he thought he lost the thumb drive in a school bathroom.

The found thumb drive was determined to be that of the one Arnett said was lost.  In addition to images of defensive football plays on the device, there were images of females between 13-17 years of age with the photo focal point being the girl’s breasts and buttocks (these children were wearing clothes and some have been identified as Lake Gibson High School students).  Some photos appear to have been taken in a classroom setting.  Some photos appear to have been taken in a track and field type setting.  There were photos of children posing in a provocative/risqué manner.  Some of the young females were wearing bathing suits with their legs spread with the focal point of the photo being that of their genital area.

There were also two images that have been determined to be child pornography.  One was an image of a female child between the ages of 10-12 years-old performing oral sex on an adult male.  The other image was of a female child between the ages of 9-11 years of age grabbing a male’s exposed erect penis while the two were seated in a vehicle.

A search of Arnett’s work lap-top computer yielded additional photos of young females believed to be that of LGHS students and an image of a male masturbating.

Arnett’s work computer, home computer and personal phone were seized.  The investigation is on-going.

Florida school board employee arrested for video voyeurism April 26, 2013

POLK COUNTY, FL – A Hillsborough County School employee is under arrest tonight in Polk County, charged with video voyeurism.

Polk  Sheriff Grady Judd says Dewey Norris,51, used a video camera, disguised  to look like a pen to record nude images of girls in his home.

Sheriff Judd says there were four victims between the ages of 14 and 19 that were videotaped over a two year period.

The sheriff if not saying why the girls were in Norris’s Mulberry home, because he does not want to identify the victims.

Sheriff Judd says Norris admitted to the crime after he was arrested.

Norris worked as an air conditioning mechanic for the Hillsborough County School system since 1988.

School officials say they have no reason to believe he committed any crimes while at work.

Sheriff  Judd says the evidence is clear from the video that Norris is the  person who committed the crime, “When he would go in there with the pen  to set it up, we had perfect pictures of him and then all of sudden  there would be these children in many different stages of undress.”

A Florida man was busted on Thursday by the state’s Department of Law Enforcement for downloading the largest amount of child pornography they had ever seen.

At the time of his arrest, authorities say that John Shearen had more than 500,000 images and videos at his home in Leesburg, Fla. Police are calling him the “most notorious child porn downloader they’ve taken into custody.” He has been charged with 15 counts of possession of child pornography and 15 counts of distribution of child pornography.

Legal officials became aware of Shearen last month while monitoring child porn websites. When they came to arrest him on Thursday, he was downloading more videos. Besides the videos and images, cops found children’s underwear in Shearen’s home, which he said he wears.

Shearen has a public defender, but that could change very soon. The judge in this case is considering removing the free attorney because Shearen gets $1,500 a month from his Navy pension and has a car which he could sell to pay for a private attorney.

“We were able to seize anywhere from 500,000 to one million images and videos,” said Special Agent Jeff Duncan. “They were stored on several computers and external hard drives to actually being transferred from the computers to separate DVDs, and he has a DVD collection of child pornography. So, we have a lot of work to do.”

Neighbors said they had no idea what Shearen was up to. “Disgusting,” said neighbor John Boyer. “Absolutely disgusting. I don’t see how somebody can even look at that.”

“He is the No. 1 person that can distribute child pornography throughout the world,” said Duncan. “And he’s been doing it.”

Should teens do prison time for having sex at school & taping it? March 20, 2013

Pasco County, Florida– Two Pasco teens are under arrest, accused of some very serious crimes. Detectives say one teen had sex with another student on the campus of Fivay High School, and another teen recorded it on his phone and sent it out.

Cameron Coleman and Dillon Falls were arrested by Pasco detectives. Deputies say 17-year-old Cameron had sex with a 15-year-old girl in the media center on March 11th, and Dillon, also 15, taped the whole thing.

Now both are charged with felonies and could face prison time.

“We can not turn a blind eye to this. This is child porn. I suggest parents talk to their kids tonight and check their phones. It is very serious,” Sheriff Nocco told 10 News.

Pasco Superintendent Kurt Browning echoed the sentiment saying, “This is inappropriate behavior. This goes back to parents teaching kids what is inappropriate, and what is appropriate.”

Cameron Coleman is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, and Dillon Falls faces child pornography charges along with transmission of video.

The sheriff tells all parents to delete this video if they see it because their kids could get charged with a crime as well if caught with it.

Dad busted after son told church leader about his kiddie porn collection March 3, 2013

A 49-year-old Montverde resident was arrested Friday on 200 counts of possession of child pornography after his 16-year-old son confided with his church youth leader about his father’s collection on Thursday, according to a Lake County sheriff’s report.

The youth leader told the church’s pastor, who alerted law enforcement, the report said. David James Mahn turned himself in to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by the pastor, youth leader and two external hard drives on which he admitted to storing thousands of images of child porn including images of children as young as 1 year old, the report said.

The pastor, whose identity was not listed in the report, told authorities he confronted Mahn on Thursday about the illegal images. He said Mahn admitted to downloading child porn and decided it was time to come clean, the report said.

Mahn told authorities he had a problem with child porn since he was a teen, stating he first subscribed to nudist magazines and then turned to the Internet to expand his collection. He was taken into custody and transported to Lake County Jail, where he is being held at $400,000 bond, after a detective previewed one of the external hard drives.

Pics of naked South Florida high school girls discovered on porn site February 24, 2013

WESTON, Fla. - Pictures believed to be of South Florida high school students were found on a pornography website, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The pictures believed to be of several Cypress Bay High School students were discovered Thursday.

According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office incident report, a student told a school administrator the website had pictures of naked, underage girls and pictures of teenagers involved in sex acts.

The deputy wrote that 10 pictures had the names of girls attached. In all, 16 photos showed six different girls, say police.

A report was then filed to cybertipline.com.

Another student told police she recognized several girls who attended Cypress Bay High School in the photos.

“It’s everywhere,” said Alicia Jurisic. “The girl was posting on Twitter how she was upset and everything.”

BSO stated the pictures appeared to be taken by the girls themselves.

It’s unclear if the names and photos are of current students at Cypress Bay or nearby schools, according to BSO.

Florida man faces 3,000-year prison sentence in child pornography case February 22, 2013

STUART — A Hobe Sound man could face more than 3,000 years of jail time after  a judge denied a motion by his attorney to dismiss his case that charges him  with 200 counts of child pornography.

Matthew Taby’s attorney, Richard Kibbey, argued for dismissal on the grounds  that the law, which attaches a minimum of 10 years of jail time per count, was  unconstitutional.

“If the statute was blatantly unconstitutional, I would have the authority  and, maybe, obligation to find it to be unconstitutional,” said Martin Circuit  Judge William Roby at Wednesday’s hearing. “But I do not find the statute to be  unconstitutional.”

Taby, a 50-year-old who worked in engineering at Pratt & Whitney, was  arrested in May after investigators reported finding more than 1,000 images and  videos of children engaged in sexual activities on an external hard drive  attached to his laptop computer, according to an affidavit.

Kibbey argued that the law charging Taby with multiple second-degree felonies  was “overkill” and meant to punish those who victimized children, not the  “passive collectors” of images and videos involving children.

“How does that reconcile itself in an argument, that (a) person could be  facing death in prison for merely looking at dirty pictures?” Kibbey said.  “There’s nowhere, there’s not a hint that, that was the legislators’  (intent).”

But assistant state attorney Vicki Nichols said each image and video was a  separate crime and should be punished as such.

“We’re allowed to overkill because (Taby) committed a thousand crimes,”  Nichols said. “He’s the reason he’s facing thousands of years (in jail).”

Roby, whose decision pushes Taby’s case to its first trial hearing March 19,  said he thought whether or not the statute was unconstitutional would be a  decision for the court of appeals, not a trial judge.

Kibbey said if he appeals the decision, the three-judge panel in appellate  court would be more likely to make a decision about the constitutionality of the  law which has incarcerated Taby for nine months.

“It’s not over yet by a long shot,” Kibbey said.

More charges against Florida school janitor for recording 6th grade girls in locker room

STUART, Fla. – The State Attorney’s Office has added 10 additional counts of video voyeurism in the case against a former janitor for the Pine School accused of using a cell phone to record children in the girl’s locker room.

In October, Michael Girard, 25, of Palm City, was arrested on 11 counts of video voyeurism and one count of tampering with evidence almost one week after several girls discovered the phone hidden in a ceiling tile of the Stuart school’s locker room.

The 10 additional video voyeurism charges makes the total charges against Girard 22.

Since his arrest, police have been able to recover another deleted video from Girard’s phone depicting the same sixth grade girls in the locker room.

The recovered video took place earlier in the school year prior to the original October 1 incident. Based on the new video evidence, the additional counts were added.

According to an October arrest report, two female students between the ages of 11 and 12 gave Girard the cell phone after finding it because they believed it was put there by a male student.

Girard was “the first adult they had seen,” the report stated.

“You don’t expect that sort of thing at a private school obviously,” said parent Bob Davis in October. “It’s pretty sick you know.”

The girls found the cell phone when they turned the locker room lights off and saw a light shining from the ceiling, near a tile in the corner of the room, the arrest report stated. The tile was propped up using a bottle of nail polish.

Later, the girls asked the school’s principal if there were any updates about the phone and its owner. But the principal didn’t know what the girls were talking about because Girard never alerted any administrators, the October report stated

When questioned by school officials, Girard denied ever receiving the phone or speaking with the girls.

Girard was later escorted from the campus and placed on administrative leave while police conducted an investigation.

The Pine School is a private school for kindergarten through sixth grade.

Plea deal for ex detention deputy accused of videotaping, torturing naked handcuffed girls February 20, 2013

 Instead of going to trial, former Polk County detention deputy Robin Pagoria  has accepted a plea deal.  Prosecutors said she filmed sexual abuse of  minors and then sent the material to her online boyfriend in Australia.

Pagoria, 47, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Monday.

Deputies arrested Pagoria in May 2011 after learning she was severely  beating two children as young as 10 years old for her own sexual gratification.

Investigators said she would strip the kids naked, bind them with  handcuffs, strap them to a table and severely whip them, all while recording the  horrific scenes on video.

The investigation then shifted halfway around  the world when authorities in Australia arrested the jail guard’s online  boyfriend.

Christopher Lobban, who lived in a million-dollar home in  Western Australia, acted like a like a puppeteer, according to investigators.

Police say he directed Pagoria on how to beat the children in a way that  would satisfy their fetish. The pair met on a social networking site for people  who enjoy spanking.

“She was following his directions to punish these  children,” said Sheriff Grady Judd during a 2011 news conference. “Logan was  dominant and Robin was submitting to his actions and directions.”

Chat  logs and other computer files are what led deputies to Lobban.

Judd said  police in Australia found all the videos of the beatings inside Lobban’s home,  along with news clippings of Pagoria’s arrest.

Efforts are still  underway to extradite Lobban to the U.S.  As part of the plea deal, Pagoria  has agreed to to testify against Lobban.
