Two men were spotted by an off-duty Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy trying to steal six-packs of Mountain Dew from a convenience store and were held until a Fort Walton Beach Police officer could arrive.
The incident occurred Sept. 3 at the Tom Thumb store at 2 Racetrack Road.
The two were seen trying to steal three six-packs of the soft drink from an outdoor stand and load them into a four-door Kia.
An off-duty sheriff’s deputy spotted them and detained them until a police officer arrived to take them into custody.
Value of the soft drink was $15.87.
