An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy who stopped a car for having faulty tag lights ended up charging the driver for marijuana possession and tampering with evidence.
Leron Daniel Fogle, a 35-year-old Fort Walton Beach man, was arrested Aug. 31, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
When Fogle got out of his car, the deputy detected “the odor of marijuana emitting from the defendant’s mouth,” according to his arrest report. The deputy asked him to open his mouth and saw marijuana on Fogle’s tongue.
Fogle later said he’d had a small amount of marijuana, which he ate when he saw the deputy’s flashing lights.
