Police say Sara Ewers, 31, of 3762 Summerwind Circle, passed out at her home around 3 p.m. on Sunday after consuming a pint of vodka. The son tried waking her up several times but was unsuccessful.
Police spokesman Capt. Warren Merriman said the son then called his father, who does not live at the residence. When Ewers did not wake up after the father instructed his son to try again, the father drove to the residence around 7 p.m. to pick up his son, who was waiting outside.
The father did not enter the home or try to wake up Ewers, Merriman said.
Police were notified of the situation by Ewers, who contacted BPD early Monday morning. Police arrived at the home at 8:30 a.m. where Ewers “advised us her son was missing and wasn’t in bed,” Merriman said.
Upon further investigation, police discovered the son had tried to wake his mother several times. The son is still with his father, according to police.
Ewers was released Tuesday on a $10,000 bond.
