Today (8/3) at 3:30 pm Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to the Adult Super Center located at 3724 Reid Street in Palatka as a part of an ongoing undercover investigation. The operation was conducted in response to information that numerous patrons of the business were routinely engaging in public acts of lewdness on the premises in direct violation of Florida Statute. An undercover detective was sent into the business to observe and report any illegal acts or activity. Once inside, the undercover detective saw one of the several patrons openly engaging in lewd acts in the theater viewing area and notified additional deputes and detectives who were waiting for his signal at a nearby location. The additional personnel then responded to secure the scene and identify the patrons.
As a result of the operation, Charles Daniel Brentzel of Edgewater, FL was arrested on the charge of lewdness. Additionally, charges of operating a structure for the purposes of lewdness will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office against a female store clerk identified as 24 year old Melissa Ann Wyman of Palatka.
Sheriff Jeff Hardy said “This operation was a follow up to the initial raid on the business conducted on July 24, 2012. Our scrutiny of this business will continue until such time as they come into compliance with the law”.
Brentzel was transported to the Putnam County Jail where he was booked on one count of public lewdness.
