A 24-year-old man was arrested late last night after he kidnapped a young girl, took her to a trailer and sexually assaulted her, police say, reports The Palm Beach Post.
Francisco Lopez Calderon, of South Dorchester Drive in Greenacres, was arrested on charges of kidnapping a child under 13 years of age with the intent to commit lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim between the age of 12 and 16.
Greenacres Department of Public Safety officers went to L.C. Swain Middle School Monday morning in response to a call about a possible sexual assault, said public safety Captain Gina Abbananto.
Investigators found that a 12-year-old girl was riding her bike Nov. 24 in the Pickwick Park West development when Calderon grabbed her and brought her to a nearby trailer.
Once inside the trailer, Calderon sexually assaulted her. He then let her leave, Abbananto said.
Calderon has lived in the area for about two years and has been in the country for about six years.
The victim said she has seen Calderon in the neighborhood but did not know him.
Abbananto said he is not a suspect in any other sexual assault cases.
