The motorcyclist skidded to a stop, rear-ending the car in front of him. Everyone was all right, but a witness noticed something odd.
The man, Michael Thomas Carter, 25, appeared to be hiding his helmet, backpack and shoes in a Walgreens parking lot.
A deputy retrieved the items and Carter told him there was marijuana in the bag. The deputy found 4.7 pounds of it, a street value of $16,000, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said. He also found $1,000 cash.
Carter went to the hospital with minor injuries and was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was cited for careless driving.
